2012 State Leadership Orientation

The 2012 Leadership Orientation for the Texas State Chapter is just around the corner. We start with the Welcome Reception/Networking Event hosted by the North Texas Chapters on Thursday, October 13th at 6:00 pm.

Early the next morning we will start the day with the phenomenal Chapter Presentations by our incoming 2012 Local Chapter Presidents and their leadership team.
Becky Hill, our 2009 National President, will speak to us during lunch.

The afternoon brings a session with FUNdamentals of FUNdraising with Jo Ann Stevens and her daughter, Ronda Husselman – both are fantastic fundraisers.
We have two hour sessions of training for the officers to help provide the skills and tools needed for each position. We will break up into 5 sessions: President and President-Elect; Vice President of Membership; Secretary; Treasurer; and Past President. Committee Chairs are to attend the Secretary session except for the Ways & Means Chairs that should attend the Treasurer session.

The day will end with a Power Hour of Technology with our own Chair and Vice-Chair of Technology.

On Saturday, we will start with a pep rally for recruitment and retention with Carol Reynolds. Cindie Stewart will help us Mine for Gold with our Business Plan/Annual Report. Mary Ann Jeffers will show us how to conduct a Governing Board.

The Best BRM – Business Resource Meeting – will feature Bobbie Nelson, our 2012 National President – as our speaker. We will formally meet our Governors and Texas District Vice Presidents and learn more about the importance of Committees and duties of the Chair and Vice Chair with Patti St Louis.

We will have a WCR University Faculty Reception starting at 6:00 pm with a teamwork activity to follow organized by Lois Malone.

Sunday will be our keynote speaker, Vicki Austin, of ChoicesWorldwide speaking on Leadership and Legacies followed by a short Graduation Ceremony from the Success through Teamwork Weekend Workshop.
