Area C-6 Chapters Are Ready for a Strong Finish!

Our third quarter has come and gone and the Area C, District 6 Chapters are ready for a strong finish.  Attending the annual TAR/WCR Conference in San Antonio was just what they needed to ramp up.  The guest speakers and breakout sessions on membership was just what was needed to keep the energy going.

Back on the local level, Fort Bend County Chapter started the quarter with a special meeting headlined by James Patterson, Fort Bend County Commissioner who shared a lot of information on all the things happening in their county.  They held an annual backpack drive to support the kids at Fort Bend County Women’s Center and their members were very generous with school supplies and backpacks overflowing.  August brought their annual joint networking meeting with Houston Association of REALTORS® where all Fort Bend school districts (Fort Bend ISD, Katy ISD, Lamar Consolidated ISD and Stafford MSD) gave updates on plans and changes – they had over 200 area REALTORS® in attendance at this meeting!  And a Big Congratulations to this energetic Chapter for winning the State Retention Contest for the month of July for Large Chapters AS WELL AS having 2-of their Programs selected by State and submitted to WCR National for potential recognition at our May National meeting in Washington, DC!  Way to go Fort Bend!

Montgomery County Chapter really knows how to engage their members with Mixers, Fundraisers and excellent Programs!   The quarter began with their July Business Resource Meeting and speaker Nelda Blair whose topic was “Supernatural Influence-A Woman’s Natural Ally”, followed in August with their “Wine Country Reception” fundraiser featuring wine and food pairings and great networking!  In September they held their “Mixer and Karaoke Time”  with a drawing for a Flat Screen TV!  They also recently held a special mixer honoring 2-of their members who were elected as 2015 State Officers – Ethel O’Dell-2015 President Elect and Michelle Mihalko-2015 District Vice President!  And, they walked away with awards during the State Membership Contest for both May and June Recruiting for Large Chapters!  Plus, State selected one of their programs which was submitted to WCR National for potential recognition at our May National meeting in Washington, DC!  This Chapter is been busy, busy!

Greater West Houston has been moving and shaking with their Business Resource Programs and outstanding fundraisers.  August featured an educational workshop on “How to Increase Your Listing Inventory” where they learned the newest strategies to generate a consistent lead flow through technology, expired listings, open houses, Facebook targeting and database management.  Then, September brought their big fundraiser – a true “Hawaiian Luau” with authentic Hawaiian dancers, costumes, musicians and leis flown in from Hawaii, plus lots of networking and prizes – it was a sell-out crowd!  Their 2015 Officers all attended Leadership Orientation and are in full planning mode for the year ahead.

Great Northwest Chapter has had some outstanding programs.  August boasted a REALTOR® expert panel sharing with members how they built their successful real estate businesses.  Then in September an outstanding team from McAlister Investment Real Estate, a private real estate investment and management firm, gave a great presentation on investing and managing those investments – their primary focus is undeveloped and developing land parcels located in Texas and the Sunbelt growth states.  In October they will be presenting “Staging to Live or Sell”!  And, they won big during the State Membership Contest – garnishing awards for April, May & June Retention for Large Chapters as well as August Recruiting for Large Chapters – awarding them a total of $400 for their hard work and dedication!  And, one of their Programs was selected by State and submitted to WCR National for potential recognition at our May National meeting in Washington, DC!  Woo Hoo!

Thank you for the honor to serve,
