Texas District Vice President Reports

Nikki Fulks  – Texas District Vice President for Area A District I

Austin Chapter

Goals and plans for summer Membership Contest
The Austin chapter has quite a bit working right now…they will have a mixer in July at a popular Mexican food restaurant to carry out the State Theme. They are currently working on a Casino night scheduled for next week where they will announce the latest contest for all members to get in on. The goal is to get 10 new members between now and Oct. They have found a sponsor to fund a Kindle Fire for the person who brings the most new members between now and then. They are going to get back to their Mega Status before the end of the year!

Update on Retention & Recruitment goals and plans
They are still working on their membership orientations the day of the BRM before or after and one member wanted a refresher so attended and happened to bring a guest and after that guest saw what WCR had to offer she also joined that day@! Seems to be a great idea to not only tie with which member can bring the most people to join but also getting all of our benefits out at the same time.

El Paso del Norte

Goals and plans for summer Membership Contest
El Paso is going to try for 10 this time since we lost a few from renewal. June 24th is the date for the “Realtor Appreciation” Olympics! This event will not only be team building like a “Company Picnic” but also competitive. There is going to be several fun events to include:

  1. Furthest cell phone toss
  2. Quickest Offer submitted
  3. Fastest Text

Then there will be real field day events for Brokers against Broker for winning trophy as well as Lender, and Builders.

  1. Sac Races
  2. Egg toss
  3. Tug of War
  4. Dunking Booth (possibly)

They have already had 3 Builders committed 5 Brokerages and 2 Lenders.  Some of the goals they are trying to reach is to get at least 1000 raised as well as get several sponsors as entries to provide some MCE credit to the winning office.  Still of plenty details to iron out but they are so energetic and excited, I think it will be a huge success no matter what. Key to winning MCE credit you must be a member. A giveaway will also be based on membership status.

Update on Retention & Recruitment goals and plans
At each luncheon we are asking that each board member bring a new guest as well as the affiliates to be introduced and treated with an intro as well as a quick opportunity to talk about one of their listings for the whole attendance to ask them about after done. For some reason this has already been a success as showing another benefit of WCR without being a member just yet. This was able to get one new member last meeting Yolanda Baca from a really large brokerage in town that she hopes to get more involvement from her office. Also we charge more at lunch if you are a non-member. Another requirement we are showing is that Bras for A Cause is going to be huge and the only way to be involved at a high level is to also be a member. This is causing so much buzz that we may have grabbed an old member/past Association President to re-join after 5yrs!!!

Cathy Mitchell Texas District Vice President for Area B District III

Had a great visit with Lisa Creed, Ft Worth, and there seems to be a hesitant optimism there. We worked on ideas for their luncheon speakers and ways to get their fundraiser off the ground.

Went to Abilene GB meeting with Holly last month. At that time they did not have a VPM, but we’re really trying to get their chapter going. They are in the midst of putting together their 1st “Bras for the Cause” and have a fresh twist on it. Shawn’s Abernathy was there and very active and has agreed to serve as VPM.

So excited about Heart of Texas chapter and their Natl award, but can not get a call back from their VPM Debbie. I know that Holly has good communication with Tara though.
