Robbie Fenn – 3rd Quarter 2014 Texas State Newsletter
1. What is your real estate background? Number of years and primary experience?
I was first licensed in Louisiana in June of 2002. I worked for a luxury property brokerage until my move to Destin, FL in 2003. I have been a licensed Broker in Florida for 11 years. I moved to Texas and became a Texas REALTOR in January of this year.
2. Why did you join Women’s Council of Realtors?
I was asked to attend a WCR meeting where our superintendent was speaking at a Business Resource Meeting. I looked around and saw the caliber of professionals in the room and knew I needed to become a member. The entrepreneurial and mentoring opportunities for growth is why I have remained an involved member.
3. What has been your involvement with your local chapter?
I moved to Texas this year and the first meeting I attended was a Business Resource Meeting with the Abilene chapter because I knew that’s where I would find my first friendships and I was right. The VP of Membership resigned during my 2nd meeting and I was asked to step in to complete the year and of course I said yes. That was
the first office I held many years ago in Florida so it was a bit full circle for me. I am now the PE, attend every Governing Board and Business Resource Meeting and next week I’m the guest speaker for our Business Resource Meeting. My topic: You Have No Idea! The benefits of WCR will be the focus. We are hoping to recruit new
4. Why do you believe that Women’s Council is still a viable organization?
Networking, professional growth, mentoring, leadership, education – that’s our strength and it is always needed in our industry.
5. What ideas do you have to increase membership and strengthen chapters?
Focusing on who we are and letting others see it through social media. People want to be associated with successful professionals and want to feel the synergy and camaraderie. Just the little bit that I’ve used Facebook this year in the Abilene chapter I’m already hearing in our community that we are having fun together, growing together professionally! Success breeds success!
6. Personal informationa that you would like to share about yourself and family?
I am the proud mom of 3 simply wonderful children and a grandson who are the greatest gift in my life. My identical twin sons live in Abilene, are attending college and both are about to be Texas REALTORS! My daughter is in the nursing program at Northwest Florida and honored with several scholarships. I gradated from the Univeristy of Lousisiana at Lafayette – Geaux Ragin Cajuns! While in College I served as President of my sorority and the Student Government Association Vice President. I was honored as being named Outstanding Greek Woman of the Year. “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing,” wise words of Helen Keller.I met the love of my life, Jeff Johnson, in Texas and moved home this year.
