Joy in the Journey – And the Journey Starts NOW!
What a whirlwind this fall has been for Women’s Council of REALTORS®. Our membership ROCKS!!!!! And National President Sindy Ready gave us all ROCKS at her amazing New Orleans Installation! What a great time to spend with not only our Texas members, but the Nation as a whole. Of course, the highlight for Texas was that our own Jo Ann Stevens won, hands down, her spot on the National Line as WCR National Financial Secretary. We are so proud of her, and stand beside, behind and around her in her rise to National President.
But, let’s back up just a bit. After our amazing Installation in San Antonio, we quickly were off to Leadership Orientation in Bastrop at Hyatt Lost Pines. President-Elect Ethel O’Dell covered that in her last newsletter, and did an amazing job highlighting what a great Orientation it was. The local chapter officers were trained to go back into their local chapters and lead with confidence! This 2015 group of Local Chapter Officers are so excited and ready for their year ahead.
Shortly after Leadership Orientation, the 2015 State Officers all headed to the “boonies”….no cell phones, no internet, but amazing training by our CATT Team. For the 1st time ever we were able to have the Line Officers, Governors and District Vice Presidents all together for training. It was great…and Nancy Garcia’s newest sweet grandbaby Mia waited until we were finished to make her arrival! Congratulations Grandma Nancy! We spent 3 intense days training, and getting us all ready to lead and represent our Membership….YOU!
Then we were off to New Orleans! There is nothing like attending the State and National Meetings to really see what Women’s Council is all about. I would encourage any member that has a desire to attend a State or National Conference, talk to your local chapter President, and let’s see if we can’t make that happen in 2015.
As soon as we returned to Texas from New Orleans it was Installation Season. What a joy it has been seeing our Local Chapter Officers installed into their new 2015 roles. I am so proud of each and every one of them, and I am so honored to be able to serve alongside them all. In just a few short days we will be in 2015, and ready to embrace this journey. I want to thank Sharon Morton, our 2014 State President, for always being there and leading with grace and integrity….may I follow in her footsteps!
Let the Journey Begin….Experience Joy each step of the way!!!!
The BEST is yet to come….
2014 Texas President-Elect
