Area C, District 6 2Q14 Report
Rebecca Lightfoot O’Shea
Area C, District 6 has made it to the half way mark! The 4 chapters that make up this District, Fort Bend, Greater West, Great Northwest and Montgomery County have had challenges and successes which is part of the midyear grind.
Fort Bend Vice-President of Membership, Angela Johnson, reported in their June business resource meeting a total of 102 members to date. They have set in place a 2 member per month goal for the ongoing recruitment contest and the excitement and interactive program with local safety officers was a hit. The same day they had their new member orientation with one broker bringing 17 new Realtor guests! Ford Bend is working hard to maintain a professional cohesive atmosphere and the officer line deserves a pat on the back for their devotion to building relationships and encouraging leadership.
Greater West Houston Chapter Membership Marketing Chair, Natalie Henshilwood , reported 53 members in June. They are happy to be welcoming new President Elect, Anita Reed. The upcoming Casino Bus Trip is one way this chapter is building value for its members and enhancing relationships. They are also joining with the Great Northwest Chapter in their next membership drive. In the fall, if you want to celebrate, network and help raise funds for the chapter join them on September 26th for their authentic Hawaiian Luau with live dancers and real flower leis flown in that day.
Fifty-four members currently make up the Great Northwest Chapter reported Vice-President of Membership, Cookie Long. Their Annual Golf Tournament in April “netted” $25,000 – Wow! They are holding their next New Membership Orientation and Recruitment event on July 10th at Los Cuscos Restaurant and looking forward to as much success as they had in the first quarter. Their 24th Annual Casino Night fundraiser with a “Roaring 20’s” theme featuring live entertainment, Live & Silent Auctions, Texas Hold’em Tournament (& much more!) will take place on Thursday, October 2nd at Raveneaux Country Club. Congratulations to the Great Northwest Chapter for winning the Chapter Retention Award for April, May and June.
While visiting the governing board meeting and luncheon with Montgomery County Vice-President of Membership, Margaret Womack, it was reported that as of June they have 74 members. Congrats to their Chapter for winning BOTH the State Recruiting & Retention contests for the month of May! They are preparing for additional mixers and gearing up to still increase their numbers. The luncheon program was informative as the chairman of the Houston Association of REALTORS® laid out state wide listing capabilities of the new HAR website. And they just announced their President-Elect, Amanda Fails!
Thank you for the opportunity to serve!
