Awesome Area A Continues to be Amazing!
Area A Chapters – Austin, Highland Lakes, Hill Country & San Antonio are bringing value to their membership as well as their communities! All have been working to bring in new members with great ideas and success.
Austin Chapter held an April TREPAC cake Auction, bringing in over $3,000 for the cause. With fun and participation being top of mind, Austin hosted “A Night at the Races” in May, with Bingo Blingo events following in June and August. Realtor® safety has also been a priority for the Austin group, in May they hosted a Concealed Handgun Class and September 24th they hosted a Self Defense Class for Realtors®! Preparations are already underway for the Installation of the 2016 Officers, save the date and join the Austin Team on December 8th at the Austin Country Club for their Awards and Installation Ceremony from 11am-2pm.
Highland Lakes Chapter has been very active in supporting their community and bringing value to their membership as well. In February the chapter teamed with the Highland Lakes Association of Realtors® in partnering with the Texas Wounded Warrior Foundation to raise funds for Texas Vets. They successfully raised $11,500 dollars for the foundation as well as raising over $2,000 for their chapter. In honor of 9-11, the chapter has been visiting local 1st responder locations in the Highland Lakes, bringing them food and homemade desserts in appreciation for their sacrifice. Great relevant programming continues to be the focus of their business resource meetings. Their education committee also promoted Realtor® Safety month by hosting a September Realtor® Safety 1hr. MCE class. Their installation and awards ceremony is scheduled for December 3rd, from 6pm-9pm at the Lighthouse Country Club in Kingsland.
Hill Country Chapter has developed an innovative way of recruiting new members and gained 11 members right off the bat! They created a “private Facebook page” for their WCR chapter members. Anyone wishing to join must be a member before they will be accepted into the Facebook group. This air of “exclusivity” has been very positive in developing interest from non-members. The chapter hosted their 3rd Quarterly Membership Mixer at the Coffee House on September 24th and will be hosting an Affiliate Appreciation Casino Night on November 29th. With health and community also a top priority, the chapter’s October 8th Business Resource Meeting will be about Breast Cancer Awareness followed by their sensational Bras For a Cause event on October 29th.
San Antonio Chapter has also been bringing value to their members as well as bringing attention to community issues. Their October Business Resource meeting is “The 4 M’s of real estate” Mold, Meth, Murder and Mayhem Oh My”. They will have a panel consisting of Inspectors, Mold and Meth Remediation companies and a gentleman from a Critter Control company. During their luncheon they will have a silent auction for wine baskets created by our Precious Past Presidents with all proceeds going directly to the San Antonio chapter. The chapter is currently working on a benefit for Operation K, an organization that trains service dogs for our wounded warriors.
It’s a privilege to serve!
